BUSTing with Holiday Goodness! (pt.2)

This year's BUST Holiday Craftacular in NY was a smashing hit! Fluffy Goodness was out in full force and we had a fantastic time! It was great meeting so many fans and seeing new faces, everyone was so nice. The music was fun and it put people in good spirits. There were so many people, the line to get in was wrapped around the block! I got to meet a bunch of really talented artists and even picked up a few awesome items for myself.

Thank you to everyone who adopted a new Fluffy friend! Thanks to Susan Juvet for putting the show together along with her helpful staff. Thanks to Kat Hulka for being the best booth mate and constant supporter of all things Fluffy! Thanks to all my friends who showed up too!

I'm happy to announce the arrival of a bunch of new Siblings up for adoption in the Fluffy Goodness Adoption Center! Go have a look around. Orders placed before the 16th can still make it to you before Christmas.

Also, if you were one of the lucky adopters and you'd like to take a picture of you and your new friend, I'd be happy to include you in the Testimonials section. :)

Danish love for Fluffy Goodness!

Recently I was contacted by Danish editor Kristina Beyer of Danish magazine BoligLiv. I am happy to report that our own "Bolin" (pictured above in the highlighted area) was featured as the face of Fluffy Goodness! With a short blurb about where he came from, the article "Stuffed Monsters vs. Aliens" in the October 2009 issue is a good read...sure it's not in a language I fully understand but I pretty much got the gist and I couldn't be happier! Thanks Kristina! Hej til alle mine nye venner!

Renegade Wrap Up!

Hello! It's been a week since the Renegade Fair in Brooklyn and I'm happy to report it was a success! We had a great time meeting tons of people and thankfully we had plenty of adoptions. I feel good knowing that so many creatures now have a good home. It was really great meeting all of you who stopped by! Your enthusiasm for Fluffy Goodness was really encouraging. Thanks for all the compliments and support. :) The weather couldn't have been better and the turnout was exactly as we had hoped. We had plenty of "Free Sexy Gumballs" for everyone and giant Pixi-Stix for all who adopted.

It was also great to meet lots of really cool vendors such as Jessica from Cherry Box Studios, Brian from Participate, the folks at Charmingwall, the lovely ladies at 3 Story Design, Garbella, and the dudes at Seattle Show Posters. Also, I ran into fellow animator Will Krause and we did a little art swap. He got a Byno (aka white furry tooth) and I got some of his awesome comics and a DVD of his shorts. Fantastic!

Special thanks go out to a nice young lady named Cait for adopting "Harriet" the giant Squin. Her donation of $55 will be going to the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization. That coupled with the $45 previously donated will make for a nice $100 to the charity. Thank you very much for that!

In the next week I'll be putting a bunch of the little guys who are still around up on Etsy so be sure to check back and see what's what!

p.s. a huge special thanks go out to Kat Hulka and Chris Pau for waking up at the butt crack of dawn and helping me out both days. You guys are the best! Thanks to everyone for helping to spread the Goodness!

Up For Adoption!

Seven Siblings are up for adoption on Etsy! www.fluffygoodness.etsy.com These guys won't be at the Renegade Craft Fair so if you have a semi-stable home life and find yourself lacking happiness in your life, you can cheer up and adopt them here. They've all had their shots and won't pee on your fancy rugs, that's a promise.

Follow the Goodness!

Hellooooo! Do you often find yourself wondering what Fluffy Goodness is up to right now? Or do you catch the words,"if only there were a place where I could share my undying love for Fluffy Goodness with others..." If so, it's perfectly normal to have thoughts like these at your age. Thankfully, through modern technology, there's a solution!

You can go become a fan of Fluffy Goodness on Facebook!
Or, for somehow even instanter gratification, you can follow me on Twitter!

I hope everyone had a great long relaxing weekend! Finally, it's starting to smell like summer!

Cut to the finish line!

It turns out, making 400 of anything is hard. Seems like a no-brainer...but not when I decided to do it! I'm working my butt off to get the "New Class" of kids ready for Renegade. Here's a production shot of some pre-cut Greans and Squin Tentacles! More production pics to come :)

On another note, I like working to a soundtrack...Tonight among other bands, I've been listening to The Fashion. I suggest you check them out! Sure, their beats are infectious but would you really want a cure? Not if you like awesome music. Plus their multi-talented front man Jakob Printzlau directs their awesome videos!

Fluffy Goodness at Renegade!!!

I'm excited to announce that this summer you can find Fluffy Goodness at the 5th annual Renegade Craft Fair in Brooklyn, NY!!! The fair is a juried show consisting of 200 artists with not-so-traditional crafts. It's a ton of fun so I invite you to come down and check it out. This year's fair is June 6 and 7 from 11am - 7pm, at McCarren Park. Come show your love for handmade and stop by my booth to say hi! (more info to come as it gets closer) A big thank you goes out to Sue and Danny for letting me join in all the fun!

New Site Launch!

March 20th, 2009

I'm proud to announce the delicious* launch of the brand new FluffyGoodness.com website! (It's still got that new site smell.) It's still in its early stages and I plan to update it in the coming weeks with more animation and loads more content from the old site. Until then, I hope you enjoy what you see...feel free to drop me a line and if you'd like, Adopt!

*Note: Fluffy Goodness should not be ingested. If swallowed, contact a doctor immediate because you just ate fabric, polyester stuffing and plastic buttons. None of which is a part of this complete breakfast.

Long Gone!

Fat City Reprise - Long Gone from Cesar Kuriyama on Vimeo.
December 8th, 2008

Hey there!

I hope everyone is having a great holiday season filled with good food and merriment….or at least some peppermint schnapps. I’m excited to share with you the first appearance of Fluffy Goodness in a sweet new music video! The video was directed by the talented Cesar Kuriyama for the band Fat City Reprise. The video premiered just over a week ago in Philadelphia and the band had an amazing performance. The video is now online and since hitting the net it has really taken off. It’s been covered by Wired Magazine’s blog, Gizmodo.com, Digg.com and plenty more! I invite you all to check it out and if you like it, pass it along to your friends. The video is unique in that it was shot entirely with a digital camera using 45,000 photos. I created the main (non-human) character called “Poppy.” The animation was done by Cesar and the whole project took around 14 months to complete as he worked on it in his spare time. Great job to all who were involved in this project!

Music Vide-oh!

March 4th, 2008

I’m happy to announce that later in the year some Fluffy Goodness will be featured in a music video for a band from Philly! I was asked by the director to create two Customs that will have a major role in the narrative that takes place in the video. I can’t talk too much about it now but I’ll gladly post more when it’s completed. Until then, above is a peek at our main star. A big thanks goes out to Cesar Kuriyama for his help in making this happen!

Big Squins, Big Sisters

January 6th, 2008

“Harriet”- Harriet is a sweet woman who loves being involved in the community. If there’s a social activity, you can bet she’s on board. She’s really great at bringing people together, especially when there’s stuffed cabbage involved! (Size:18×20)

Recently, Fk=luffy Goodness had the chance to do some good. Two Customs were in the Fall 2007 Mutation Craft Fair and went up for adoption for a good cause. The two Giant Squins “Phillip” and “Harriet” were up for a silent auction with all proceeds going to the Big Brothers Big Sisters oraganization. So far, only one (Phillip) has been adopted and a donation of $45 has been made. Thanks go out to Kate Compton of Savannah Georgia for her generous donation. Ideally, $100 between the two was the goal. If you or someone you know would like to adopt “Harriet” for charity please let us know. The suggested donation is $55 but we’ll gladly accept anything over $35. Once again, a huge thanks goes out to the cool ladies behind Mutation…Meghan Shannon and Amy Nieto, you guys rock hard!

(To contact about adopting send an email to CrappyCandy(at)gmail.com The highest bid wins, Good luck!)

Great News! ShopSCAD’s audience has demanded that they be given the opportunity to once again adopt a whole host of new stuffed friends…with that, I present to you the all new ShopSCAD order for 144 new and unique Siblings! New Munkers, Buck-Bucks, Poofs and Squins!!! Just in time for the holidays! What better way to show someone you care than to say it with an adorable quirky stuffed doll. (Disclaimer: In some cases it’s probably not a bad idea to also actually tell the giftee that you care for them.) Go ahead and adopt yours today!

As a result of this order, they will be on sale in not one but two new locations! ShopSCAD Atlanta and a temporary boutique in Miami. Not to mention the new ones at ShopSCAD Savannah. (Even though I did just mention it.)

A big thank you goes out to Amy Zurcher and the rest of the ShopSCAD crew for their continued support!

Magpie-in-the-sky!

July 2nd, 2007

Well this is a long and overdue update! It’s been a while but don’t let that fool you, I have been quite busy this year and now I'm gearing up to take over the world. We’re happy to announce that you can now (and have been able to for a little while) adopt a "Sibling" over at the great Magpie Store located in Davis Square in Boston Mass. Magpie is a great place where offbeat arts and crafts go to thrive. If you live in the area or are just visiting, make sure you put them on your list of places to check out. Thanks again to all the great people who run the place, you guys rock pretty hard.

Fluffy Goodness in “The South” Magazine!

So it’s been a few months since the last news update and for that I apologize. I’ve been very busy and lots have happened since May. The Mutation Craft Fair was a huge success. I was featured in two magazines, a newspaper, an online TV show, and a New Jersey radio station! I’ll post more (such as the article and sound bites) in the future. I made around 30 and about 28 were adopted. The newspaper article brought people in the second day specifically looking to adopt! In short, it was great. I even got to meet fans who had adopted in the past and came back for more. As for now, above is the image used in the May 2006 issue of “The South” magazine. That’s a pic of my good friend Tim selling my Fluffy Goodness at a previous Mutation festival that I could not directly attend.

Thanks again to Amy Neito and Meghan Shannon for their continued support…and to all the fans who continue to adopt and tell their friends.
With the mounting and continued work I have left to do on my thesis project, I’m saddened to have to put Fluffy Goodness on a brief hiatus. I promise, that when I return, they’ll be even better than they already are. I have big plans for them so stick around and keep checking in to see what develops!
p.s. site updates are still on their way!

Store it.

April 4th, 2006

Once again, the I have teamed up with the Shop SCAD store in Savannah Georgia! This time there are 48 brand spankin’ new Siblings who could use a good home.
12 “Munkers”
12 “Squins”
12 “Greans”
12 “Minamals”
You can only buy them exclusively at the store or on their website. I encourage all of you to go check them out and adopt one today. I’ll have pics/bios of them all up in the siblings section soon. Also, feel free to check out a brief bio of myself on their site. My greatest thanks go out to store owners Amy Zurcher and Katie Runnels for all their support. You guys rock!

Amping Up…

March 28th, 2006

So, in preparation for the next “Mutation” (see below) I’ve been sketching up a storm and feverishly creating as many new little guys as I can. I thought it would be fun to show you guys a snippet of what’s been spilling out of my head. Some will make it, others will never be free from the tyranny of the page. Either way I’m having a great deal of fun on this batch.

Crafty Like a Fox.

March 25th, 2006

Spring has sprung and with it comes the promise of yet again a brand new and fantabulous “Mutation Craft Fair!” All are welcome to join in the festivities for a two day crafters dream. Fluffy Goodness will proudly have a booth both days of the fair on April 8th and 9th. I will be on hand to show you just how excited he is about his little guys. For more info, go check out www.MutationCraftFair.com Many thanks go out to the awesome girls who started this fair, Amy and Meghan. Go check out their sites and get your hands on some of the coolest original crafty works of art. You guys rock!

The First of Many!

February 14th, 2006

So today is Valentine’s Day…a time for love (if you’re with someone), a time to be bitter (if you’re single) and a time to hate the corporate machine that is the greeting card industry that made up this commercialized holiday but you “celebrate” it anyway because you enjoy doing good things for those you love (if you’re me).

It’s also a milestone for Fluffy Goodness, for today…is our One Year Anniversary! That’s right, it’s been one full year since these little guys invaded the world and hearts of many. *Awww.* What a year its been…They are sold both on the internet and in a store, have been in two craft fairs, were mentioned in a newspaper article, raised money for a charity, were sold to a few celebrities, and made people smile, if only for a moment. I’d call that a successful first year. There’s much more yet to come…Be on the lookout for many exciting things in the future. And where would I be without the support of so many wonderful people. (No where) People who have adopted, or were there as a constant moral support. My thanks goes out to everyone who’s wondering….does that mean me? Yes, yes it does. Thanks. :)

Katrina Finita

As of yesterday, I am proud to say that all of the Customs created for the Katrina relief effort have been adopted!!! All six of them total $100 that all went directly to the Red Cross. My sincere thanks go out to everyone who helped me help others rebuild their lives, even just a bit. My thoughts and prayers go out to the families who are still displaced from the life they once knew. Hopefully, they can return to a sense of normalcy as soon as possible.

Airborne!

Pip, pip, cheerio weeeeeeee!

Guess who’s off to jolly ole’ England….That’s right…it’s Tiffany! Thanks to a sweet girl over seas, Fluffy Goodness will forge ahead in the continued quest for world domination.

I hope everyone has had a great start to the new year. You can expect to see a lot of new and exciting things around here very soon. In a few weeks, you’ll have a great way to show the world just how much you love Fluffy Goodness and others can tremble in fear…or just say, “Hey, what’s that? That looks pretty neat. Tell me more.” Be sure to check back to learn more about my vague promises. In other news, the ShopSCAD order is finally nearing completion, and the ability to order Customs will be put on a temporary hiatus while I get lots of other things done.

Breakfast with cough, cough…

Today was Breakfast with Santa at a local Applebee’s here in New Jersey. I was happy to have donated some Fluffy Goodness for them to raffle off to a lucky kid. It made a bit of a splash with several staff members considering adopting ones of their own. Thanks to the entire Applebee’s staff for accepting me into their family, and for plugging this site! I will have a picture of him up in the family album section soon. Untill then…I am quite under the weather. I’m sniffling and sneezing and my entire body aches like I was in a fight with Capt. Lou Albano. A fight that I didn’t win. I only have five more holiday guarantee customs left to make, and then back to the rest of the lot.

Play dat ting

December is finally here and it’s sunny and warm…that is if you live in the northeastern part of the U.S. Yay global warming! It’s fun to see all the holiday decorations up with such nice weather while not living in the south. In Fluffy news, the holiday custom orders are going swimmingly. Only about five more to go! Oh, and the rest of the order for Shop Scad. I’ll put all the new guys up soon. Here’s a photo of one of the new customs gettin’ funky on the ivory’s. His name is Mickey and he's going to actor Wes Bentley. Good times!

Holiday Rush!

Yay! It looks like quite a few of you nice people out there want to keep me busy these next few weeks and I couldn’t be happier. Basically, I have more custom orders than I can shake a stick at. I would however like to thank those who did request custom orders for this holiday season. :) I’ll continue taking custom orders for people, but this late in the game I’m just not guaranteeing them to be ready for the festivities.

...and now enjoy a photo of Humphfrey and Dill!

Customs and innards…delicious.

My floor looks like a plush slaughterhouse, with cut up strips of fleece resembling really soft adorable entrails and button eyes scattered throughout. Last night I completed one of the many new custom orders on my plate. Then later I heard some rustling around downstairs in the kitchen and upon inspection I found the new kid rummaging through the fridge. She isn’t housebroken yet and for this I blame myself. She’ll be ready soon. Her name is Vicky.

Buttons from a giant

So even though I struggle with my decision, I stand by it 100%. I recognize that Wal-Mart has it’s ugly side and isn’t the happy fun place it claims to be, however I do continue to shop there for some supplies. I went looking in craft stores, and mom and pop places first to find the buttons that I use but found that the best price was at the corporate giant. Today, the big button special order I placed came in and the only reason I’m posting this is because it made me laugh at how ridiculous it looks. Instead of punching in one button strip and multiplying it, my cashier decided to manually enter each one. Now, without further ado, I give you the most ridiculous looking receipt I’ve ever had.

Super Awesome New News Page Go!!!

Hey there everybody! Welcome to the brand spankin’ new NEWS section of the site. I’ll be updating this thing quite often so be sure to check back to keep up with what’s new in my world. Feel free to leave comments, ask questions, meet fellow adopters and grow as a community. There are still a few bugs I’m working out but it’s pretty operational as of now. Below is a sneak peek at one of the many things I have going on right now. I hope you all enjoy the new site!…oh, and since my best/main source of advertising is word of mouth, I won’t stop you if you want to tell a friend. I promise. No foolies.

News from 11.05.05

- I’m still working on the three new "Siblings” for ShopSCAD. They should be ready soon, along with the new “Minamals" for the store as well. Right now my house looks like a cross between the island of Dr. Moreau and a clone army…plush animal parts scattered everywhere in various stages of life while others are lined up in rows. I think last night I even heard one of them whisper “….kiilll meee father…” But I assure you, they will all be happy upon completion.

- Four down, two to go! A big thank you goes out to anyone who has adopted a "Creature for Katrina." I know that pretty soon they’ll be gone and I can finally donate to the cause. I’m really glad that there has been an interest in them. Thanks again everybody!

- I’ll be adding new Up For Adoption's just as soon as I finish the ShopSCAD order. Keep checking back for updates. Oh, and I have a few other fun things up my sleeve for you guys…I don’t want to spoil it but let’s just say you’ll easily get attached to them. ;o)
